Michael W. Thompson, DDS

I joined the oral healthcare field to help the people in my community achieve the highest level of health possible. I am very thankful and respectful of the profession of dentistry. I think it is a necessary profession that can be practiced in many ways according to the desires of the practitioner. It is a profession that allows continual learning opportunities and personal growth. I enjoy coming to the office each and every day. There is never a dull moment!

Education and Continuing Education

In addition to my formal dental education, I have taken numerous classes over the years in order to stay up-to-date with the ever-changing field of dentistry. I have studied migraine treatment, Invisalign®, laser dentistry, sedation dentistry, and CEREC® single visit crown technology, all in the hopes of giving my patients the best care and results possible.

Outside the Office

I am originally from Santa Barbara and lived in numerous places growing up including Louisiana, Australia, Singapore, Scotland, San Diego and San Francisco. I was happy to have returned to Santa Barbara 26 years ago to start my practice and raise my family. My wife, Carolina, and I have one daughter named Camie, two yellow labs, and two cats. My free time is spent playing golf, fishing, traveling, and most anything that gets me outdoors. I am also a member of the Lions Club.
